Vodafone and RingCentral claim they’ve fixed major meeting maladies

    -

Fixed the three big glitches: ISDN, PSTN and can-you-say-that-again

Vodafone and cloud meeting merchant RingCentral claim they have streamlined and sanitised the messy business of collaboration. Their new system takes on the twin curses of hybrid working conditions: bad meetings and bad connectivity. They claim that their cloud comms platform Vodafone Business UC with RingCentral (VBURC) can improve human communications by giving customers more options while simplifying the process of workforce collaboration and remote working. The aim is to help people work anywhere through team messaging, video meetings and a cloud phone system.

    ISDN is going down

That can only be achieved if the second major cause of comms confusion is tackled: connectivity. The new unified comms platform will prepare workers for impact of the UK’s 2025 shutdown of existing ISDN and PSTN networks, on which the vast majority of businesses rely. VBURC aims to simplify the migration from today’s infrastructure on to cloud connectivity through a single, unified app which is described as secure and robust with an expanded portfolio of unified communication and collaboration talents, including call recording and HD video meetings.

These features can run standalone or integrated with business applications like Microsoft 365 and all the top customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and helpdesk services. It also offers instant analytics, call management, team collaboration and task management. These tools will be available to businesses of all sizes. “We’re excited about a unified comms solution that meets a real business need to help people work effectively and securely no matter where they are,” said Vodafone business director Nick Gliddon.
“We’re giving people all the comms options they need to get their work done, through a single mobile app,” said Yves Desmet, VP of global service providers EMEA at RingCentral.
