Juniper Networks, Ruckus form enterprise focused wireless LAN alliance

    -

Juniper Networks and Ruckus Wireless have formed an alliance to deliver carrier-grade wireless networking products for mid to large size enterprises.

The partnership will see both vendors offer a range of different products to capitalise on the growing enterprise market. They cited research by Gartner that said spending on enterprise Wireless LAN will increase from $5.3 billion (€3.12 billion) this year to $7.8 billion (€6.96) globally by 2019.

Among the services both companies will offer is carrier class and scalable Wi-Fi networks, high security, BYOD provisioning and onboarding, firewalls and network management.

The alliance will be based on Juniper’s Open Converged Framework, which the companies said will safeguard enterprises’ investment for the future.

Dan Rabinovitsj, Chief Operating Officer, Ruckus Wireless, said: “Enterprises around the world are being challenged to accommodate the use of more and more mobile devices and applications, while still maintaining a secure, high-performance operating environment. Juniper Networks provides the wired infrastructure critical for serving as the backbone for the Smart Wi-Fi networks we deliver.

“This ‘no-compromise’ partnership offers the value and ROI that businesses are looking for, with the performance, flexibility and scalability they demand.”

Jonathan Davidson, EVP and General Manager, Development and Innovation at Juniper Networks, added: “The network infrastructure of our enterprise customers is experiencing incredible performance pressure due to the influx of mobile devices in the workplace connecting to mission-critical apps and to content in the cloud.

“Building on Juniper’s Open Converged Framework, teaming with Ruckus ensures carrier-grade levels of scale and performance through our interoperable wired and wireless solutions to solve the WiFi capacity and coverage challenges that our enterprise customers face.”
