BroadSoft announces communication applications optimized for 4G networks

    -

BroadSoft, a global provider of IP-based communications services, today announced MobileMxD – an integrated suite of Consumer and Unified Communications (UC) services optimized for 4G networks and the growing variety of smartphones and tablet devices. BroadSoft says that, with MobileMxD, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) will be able to provide greater value to their existing consumer services, while tapping into the growing enterprise demand for mobile UC applications.

Fixed and converged operators can leverage BroadCloud – the company’s recently announced cloud-based, hosted infrastructure for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) communications capabilities – to brand and customize UC and consumer solutions, and to shrink time-to-market for delivering the services. MobileMxD extends these benefits to mobile operators seeking to meet the growing demands by individuals for: personalized communication services in both their work and personal life; device freedom from communication services; and integrated rich content with communication services.

MobileMxD will enable mobile operators to tap into subscriber revenue opportunities across all major smartphone and tablet operating systems (iOS, Android, etc.) and 4G enabled devices. MobileMxD will initially feature several in-demand services, including:

    ·         MxDFamilyCenter – a web-based application that enables individuals to personalize their communication services and will allow families to stay connected and informed

    ·         MxDCallCenter – Call Center capabilities, including video calling, which will enhance the customer experience and improves customer satisfaction

    ·         MxD Instant Messaging and Presence – Smartphone and tablet access to business contacts from an integrated corporate directory, as well as mobile presence & location indicators

    ·         MxDMeeting – Web collaboration capabilities, including desktop sharing and the ability to initiate, manage and control and participate in meetings, from a smartphone or tablet

    ·         MxDProVideo – Video–calling and conferencing anytime, anywhere and from any mobile device

“For mobile network operators seeking a path for delivering 4G smartphone and tablet-enabled consumer and UC services– and the increased subscriber revenue that can come with these services – we believe MobileMxD will represent a compelling opportunity to do so quickly and cost-effectively,” said Michael Tessler, president and chief executive officer, BroadSoft. “Through MobileMxD, we are expanding our recently announced strategic approach for fixed and converged operators to mobile operators, providing these operators with a method to monetize their LTE data networks, while integrating voice components.”

BroadSoft claims MobileMxD will deliver a superior user experience with the availability of high-definition (HD) audio and video. For mobile network operators, MobileMxD will offer several key benefits, it says:

    ·         New, billable services that are expected to increase average-revenue-per user (ARPU)

    ·         Higher customer satisfaction, which is expected to increase subscriber average life

    ·         Improved brand awareness through the extension of services to a range of smartphones and tablets

BroadSoft will be demonstrating MobileMxD at the Mobile World Congress Conference and Exhibition held February 14-17, 2011 in Barcelona, Spain.
