Bouygues throws weight behind HPE’s upcoming vOSS solution

    -

Bouygues Telecom has become an early adopter of a new virtualised OSS solution that claims to increase network agility and lower costs.

HPE’s vTeMIP, which will be launched officially in August, uses micro-service architecture and a single “pane of glass” interface from which operators can roll out an improved customer experience and introduce digital services, software defined networking and network functions virtualisation.

By virtualising the likes of alarm management, mediation, storage, messaging and directory services, HPE said operators could benefit from cost-effective and unlimited scalability as well as better respond to more fluid customer demands.

HPE claimed the OSS Assurance Solution would also respond to hardware failure by automatically deploying virtual machines.

Pierre Brossois, Supervision & IP Configuration Management BU Manager at Bouygues Telecom, said: “We initially chose TeMIP for its carrier-grade scalability, high availability and customisability. Today, we have two main objectives, firstly to investigate how to best leverage vTeMIP’s new virtualized micro-service architecture and its HTML5 console, and secondly to refine the plan to migrate our production environment.

“HPE vTeMIP is a strategic choice for us to be able to operate the next generation of services, and we expect to further lower our operational costs, increase our SLA (service level agreement) compliance and delight our users.”

Dave Sliter, Vice President & General Manager, Communications Solutions Business, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, said: “Even the most innovative and attractive service offerings won’t generate new revenue without meeting customers’ quality and agility expectations. Our new OSS Assurance solution vTeMIP is key for CSPs to provide service quality and reliability, faster problem resolution, while meeting scalability and elasticity needs for NFV and digital services.”
