Altice taps HPE, Yahoo veteran for CTO role

    -

Bruno Zerbib has been appointed Group CTO of Altice, bringing experience from a career in enterprise IT and cloud.

Reporting to Group CEO Michel Combes, Zerbib will oversee the telco’s technology and infrastructure journey, Altice said.

Zerbib previously worked at IT company Hewlett Packard Enterprise as head of the Cloud business unit and has worked in product areas including telecommunications, consumer, B2B, software as a service, infrastructure as a service, hardware and cloud.

Before that, Zerbib worked as Senior Director of Product Management for Cloud Services for Yahoo.

He has worked with large engineering teams building software platforms and bringing to market solutions for carriers, managed service providers and large enterprise.

Zerbib takes over the role from Max Blumberg, who has taken the new role of Chief Customer Experience Officer. Zerbib has begun work this week.

“Bruno Zerbib is a highly accomplished leader with an outstanding 17-year track record in Product Management, Product Marketing, Corporate Strategy and Strategic Alliances,” Altice said in a statement.

Zerbib joins the telco at a time when it is undertaking an extensive virtualisation project, in addition to 5G trials.

Altice recently announced that its global mobile network would be virtualised due to the successful project at French subsidiary SFR. It is working with Cisco to build a holistic NFV platform in order to speed up the time to market for new services and boost turnover and customer retention.
