Open Digital Architecture finally gathers momentum in Copenhagen

Axiata, Reliance Jio and Vodafone are the first operators to achieve the status of TM Forum’s Running on ODA at Digital Transformation World in Copenhagen. The Forum’s Open Digital Architecture has been drawn up over several years by more than 350 of TM Forum’s member companies. The approach is also inherent in the company productising its platform-based applications for use by other enterprises, across many sectors, in their digitalisation journeys.

Vodafone, one of the original proponents of the Forum’s Open APIs which are a key part of the ODA, uses the APIs and ODA to improve. customer experiences, according to its Chief Digital and Information Officer, Scott Petty: “At Vodafone, we’ve adopted an agile, API-first and data-driven approach to give our customers the best experience possible across multiple channels – app, online, retail – as well as helping them on their own digital journeys. Open Digital Architecture is behind this digital drive.”

Anthony Rodrigo, Group Chief Information Officer, Axiata Group, explained, “Using Open APIs and ODA has enabled Axiata not only to capitalize on our growth ambition by reusing software applications across our group of operating companies, but also to develop new ways to monetize our IT and network capabilities by opening them to partners.”
