BICS selects Inmanta for end-to-end network and service orchestration

    -

BICS, which provides international wholesale services, has contracted Belgian start-up Inmanta as the service orchestrator for the end-to-end automation of its network services.

As well as providing its Inmanta Service Orchestrator network and service automation solution, Inmanta is also working with BICS to roll out the first orchestration use cases.

BICS is eyeing benefits such as faster time-to-market through automated service provisioning across multiple domains; better visibility and control over service delivery through end-to-end management; and agility through Inmanta’s vendor-agnostic and open extensible framework.

The solution also offers carrier-grade resilience, Inmanta says, due to its self-healing intent-based mechanism.

    “Network of the future”

Yaunese Aazibou, CTIO of BICS, commented, “We strongly belief that network automation will shape the future of our network, making it easier and more efficient to operate while delivering the best-in-class experience to our customers. The service orchestrator developed by Inmanta will help us in realising this exciting transformation journey.”

“We are pleased to deliver to BICS a very powerful and innovative solution,” added Stefan Walraven, CEO of Inmanta. “It will help this leading international communications enabler to implement and execute its vision of the network of the future. Our customers value that Inmanta empowers them through our vendor-agnostic orchestration framework with intent-based modelling.”

Inmanta is a high-tech spin-off from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium. Inmanta won the international Call for Innovation on SDN/NFV 2.0, organised by Proximus, Swisscom and Telia in 2016.
